One thing you can do to better edit your work is to read your work out loud. You may not be the world’s best editor, but you know what sounds right and what doesn’t. Reading something out loud allows you to notice if the flow is right. It allows you to spot grammar mistakes and typos. If you choke on your breath reading a sentence, it means that sentence needs to be rewritten. Reading out loud uncovers a text’s imperfections.
