Writing consists of transmitting information from one community to another. The world is made of individuals, all of whom belong to communities. What makes you unique as an individual is the combination of groups and communities to which you belong. More often than not, writing consists of connecting ideas and communicating them to those who need it. In a sense, your duty as an author is to find out which communities need which ideas and to communicate those ideas in a way that makes sense and is compelling to the target audience.
