The philosophy of the enlightenment is more than a collection of thinkers and ideas. It is a way to engage with philosophy and it is a system of thought. As Ernst Cassiner shows in the introduction to his book The Philosophy of the Enlightenment, we cannot do justice to this philosophy by simply summarizing the ideas that came out of it. We need to look at how it radically differs from other philosophies. This reminds us that the best writing is writing that offers not simply a collection of information but rather a system or a framework. When you write, make sure you give your readers more than fact and that you give them a way of understanding the world. Watch our free training on the 3-step Stoic writing method that can help you write your dream book in 16 weeks.
