One of your most important duties as a writer is to create vivid pictures for your readers to see. Without pictures, you readers cannot understand the significance of what you describe — and the more vivid, the better. Lately, I have been reading Barack Obama’s memoirs, A Promised Land. A strong and compelling writer, he does a fantastic job of describing what he saw and felt before and during his tenure as the 44th President of the United States. Remember to always do your best to create vivid pictures.
